ABC Drive Safe is now providing a Nevada DMV licensed online 30 hour Driver Education Course for Damonte Ranch High School.
In order for a young adult under the age of 18 to receive a Nevada Driver License, they must attend a 30 hour Nevada DMV Licensed Driver Education course.
Damonte Ranch High School students are now able to complete this required course in the comfort of their home, school, Starbucks or anywhere WiFi is available. This is the same online Driver Education course that has been offered throughout Washoe School District High Schools for the last 3 years, but is now offered at a 25% discount and brings immediate funding into Reed High School where it will be used for our teens school activities.
Included in the purchase of enrollment of the Driver Education Course is a 3 hour Parent-Coaching course created to provide parents with the knowledge and skills to safely instruct their teen behind the wheel.
Why do I need to take a Driver Ed Class?
If a student is under 18 and would like to get your drivers license, Nevada State Law requires that they first successfully complete a NV DMV licensed Driver Education Course.
What are the benefits of taking Driver Ed from American Driver Ed?
American Driver’s Ed course has been approved by the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. The course teaches a comprehensive understanding into the driving skills and judgement a student driver needs in order to control a vehicle on Nevada roads. Operating a motor vehicle is a serious step into adulthood and we take our responsibility to new drivers seriously. Yet, our online and behind-the-wheel courses are interesting, enjoyable and informative.
What devices may I take this course on?
American Driver Education is accessible by smartphone, tablet and computer. Take your course on the go and finish sections when you have the time. Once the course is completed, a certificate of completion will be emailed to you as a JPEG image within 24 hours of completing the final with a 70% or higher. The attached Certificate is printable from a computer.

Message for the Parent
The experience of teaching your teen to drive will be as lasting as the memories of bringing your child home after their birth, their first steps, their first day of Kindergarten and so many other firsts. During this time, you will be sharing your teen’s first real steps toward independence and adulthood, and this experience is a major milestone for any parent.
The vast majority of parents are not trained driving instructors. You may know how to drive safely, but you will need to learn how to translate your driving skills and experience into words the teen will be able to apply while they are learning. This type of language is not second nature for most parents. This often becomes apparent while their teen is holding onto the steering wheel at 35 mph.
In this course, Section 27 was written specifically for the parents who will be investing the time teaching their teen to safely drive on the road. Section 27 is a step by step guide for building competence and confidence in your teen while reassuring yourself that they are entering adulthood as responsible individuals.
Lastly, I would encourage you to sit with your teen while they are going through this course. Review each section with them. Competent driving skills begin before your teen sits behind the steering wheel for the first time.
